Which at some point they need to realize, some arguments just do not get any easier. The Christian who takes these arguments to heart and memorizes them and utilizes them in witnessing situations will be astonished to see the fruits it will yield. If you have read Reasonable Faith, then there is not much in here that you have not read before.
However, that does not mean this book is not of value.
About the only things that could improve the book are: The book ends rather abruptly. It would be good to add a closing chapter that wraps everything together. Second, a section appendix maybe regarding biblical criticism would be useful.
I know Craig is averse to discussing textual issues regarding apologetic material, but he has done quite a bit of study on the New Testament at least, and sharing that knowledge with others would better round out the book. Finally, future editions of this book would be well serviced with a substantial subject and person index. In all, On Guard is a fantastic gateway into the apologetic subject matter from a classical approach.
Craig is both witty and winsome.
Like a skilled Sherpa, he carefully guides the reader through the dazzling array of arguments and counterarguments that frequently scare off many would-be apologists. Craig is generally considered one the most prominent and brightest defenders of Christianity alive today, and it is with great admiration I recommend this beginners text in apologetics.
