Application User Agent: The Preview in Firefox option should be available in that case. If nothing helps, reset the actions by removing the handlers. Unfortunately this didn't help.
I tried deleting the handlers. I also disabled my Adobe add-on.
The only thing that's seemed to change is that now neither PDF nor Adobe Document are appearing under content types under Applications.
This was still the case even after I downloaded a new PDF.
Try disabling the plugin from within the Adobe software. Apparently something is very agressive in maintaining it, so your changes are being overwritten. Try downloading a PDF from somewhere else.
